Finally I've been to Orissa... Yesterday I came back from the trip to main tourist spots of Eastern coastal state of India i.e. Orissa.. It was also known as Kalinga, Utkal etc... I went to state capital - Bhubaneshwar, Puri - One of the Char Dhams of India and Konark - Place of Ancient Sun Temple.
I went on 19th of March from Bhopal to Bhubaneswar via Raipur. Reached
Bhubaneshwar in afternoon, And after some rest, went Puri in evening on the same day..
Before reaching to Puri, I visited Dhauligiri on the way, it was the place where Mauryan Emperor Ashoka the Great, fought Kalinga war and then after it, He renounced Wars and Violence,.. There's one rock edict of Ashoka, by it, He conveyed his message of Non-Violence and Compassion to his subject. Dhauligiri visit was important for me. Being a History student, I read a lot on this topic & place...

PURI
It's one of the char dhams of India. I reached there in evening on 19th of march and visited Jagannath temple in the evening.. I saw whole temple complex with main deity Jagannath's temple.. I was blessed to get best darshan of Lord Jagannath.. Then I roamed in city by car and saw Puri city.. Next day on Morning, I again visited to Jagannath temple. This time it was more crowded.. Then I went to its beach.. Puri is located on the coast of Bay of Bengal.. There I had great fun enjoying in water.. Then in afternoon, I headed towards Konark which 40km (approx) from Puri.. Some of road to Konark from Puri is alonside Sea coast, so it's a great view.

Konark is place where ancient Sun Temple is located.. It was build in 13th century.. There is one interesting fact, this temple was built very near to coast in 13th century and now the coast is 1.5 km far from temple.. This temple is dedicated to Sun God and by one cyclone many years back, its some part was collapsed.. Still it has colossal structure and temple looks like like Sun God's

Then In Night, I went back to Bhubaneshwar. 10 km before Bhubaneshwar there is one small place pimpari famous for handicrafts. So we halted there purchased some handicraft works..

Next & last day of trip 21th of march, I was in Bhubaneshwar.. Well I liked this capital city esp VIP road.. This road is 6 lanes road and many big buildings are situated here.. This city is clean, open and traffic is much low. There you'll find many folk and traditional paintings on the walls alongside the roads..Here I visited Lingraj Temple and then Udaygiri & Khandgiri caves.. These caves were used by Jains monks..

Then In afternoon I travelled back to Indore via New Delhi.. So my trip to Orissa completed.. By the way by this trip my char dham yatra also completed.. I visited all Char Dhams : Dwarka (in 1993), Badrinath (in 1996), Rameshwaram (in 1997) & Puri (in 2009)...
